Step 3 – Plantronics Headset Compatibility
This is the last guide in our 3 part series to help you decide which Plantronics headset suits your needs. In part 1 we provided an explanation of the Plantronics wearing styles. This was followed up in part 2 where we went through the Plantronics noise cancelling options.
Now we have decided which style of Plantronics H-Top it is you want to purchase we need to get the right connection to your telephone. The following section will help you understand what solution you need and why.
With most office telephones to connect your headset all you will need is the relevant connection lead. This is the Plantronics curly cord that will have the Quick Disconnect / QD plug at one end and the plug into the telephone at the other. Another term for these connection leads are Plantronics bottom cords.
It is then just a case of purchasing the correct Plantronics headset bottom cord for your telephone.

The problem with some telephones is that they are not really headset compatible. However Plantronics have built away around this. Telephones that are not headset compatible do not have enough amplification to run a headset. So to rectify the problem Plantronics have made a headset amplifier caller the Vista M12.
Plantronics Vista M12
The Plantronics Vista M12 amplifier helps increase the telephones volume levels so it can actually be used with a headset. As most telephones like this do not have a headset socket the Plantronics Vista M12 plugs into the phones handset socket. Then simply plug the Plantronics H-top you have chosen into the Plantronics Vista M12 amplifier.
