The problem with plugging an audio conferencing telephone into a phone system or ISDN line is mainly compatibility. There are many different telephone systems on the market such as Avaya, BT Meridian, Siemens, Ericsson, Cisco and many more. Apart from the cost the only difference between them is the compatibility with the system they are designed for. Another thing to think about is what if you change your phone system; these system specific digital conference phones are basically redundant.

The Konftel 50 phone is an audio conferencing telephone that plugs into the handset socket of the existing digital system phone. You simply unplug the digital system phones handset, plug the Konftel 50 in instead, and then plug the handset back in via the Konftel 50.

This means that once connected to your system phone you can either use the Konftel 50, or for privacy the phones handset as normal. To make a call you simply use the digital system phone as normal, and then activate the Konftel 50 if you want to audio conference. This also means that you can use your existing system phone to access your system features, for example 3 way calling or call transfer.

The beauty of this solution is that not only is the Konftel 50 compatible with any digital system phone with a removable handset, you do not have to worry if you ever change your telephone system.

Even though the Konftel 50 is plugged into the existing digital telephone the audio quality is fantastic. It is just as good as much more expensive models that are designed to work on specific phone systems, or digital lines.

The Konftel 50 is not expandable with extra microphones, so if you need this feature the Konftel 60W will do this. It is exactly the same as the Konftel 50 but with the option of expandable microphones, and Bluetooth connectivity.
